About Me

My name is David Toole and I am a 4th year student at Juniata College studying Bioinformatics. I do microbial ecology research for Dr. Regina Lamendella’s lab in the biology department and our projects tend to be interdisciplinary collaborations with other biology or environmental science research groups. Thanks to her and the research I’ve been fortunate enough to take part in, I have been offered an internship position at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. During my internship,  I will be studying the metabolic pathways of Arctic microbes in surface soil and permafrost and how they contribute to global warming. I plan on attending graduate school for either Computational Biology or Microbiology, although ideally I would like to do both. Other than that….I enjoy long walks on the beach ~
